Kepro was awarded a statewide contract by Florida’s Department of Children and Families to provide Level II pre-admission screening and resident review evaluations and determinations. Kepro was selected as the most qualified firm to conduct the Level II pre-admission screening and resident review (PASRR) evaluations of persons with suspected or confirmed diagnoses of mental illness, who are seeking admission to or residing in Medicaid-certified nursing facilities in Florida.
Kepro utilizes a multi-disciplinary approach. Kepro’s professionals, which include, psychologists, nurses, social workers, and physicians work together to evaluate the appropriateness of nursing facility placement and the need for Specialized Services for each individual referred for PASRR/MI Level II evaluation.
Kepro adheres to the Federal and state regulations governing the PASRR/MI process. The Level II evaluations are sensitive to each individual’s culture, language, ethnic origin, and means of communication.
Kepro accepts Level II pre-admission screening and resident review (PASRR) submissions via our online provider portal. Any nursing home, CMAT, and CARES staff who are responsible for submitting Level II requests are eligible to register to become providers and use the portal. Electronic Level II requests are optional but recommended.
The benefits include real time access to submission statuses, treatment recommendations, and determinations as well as any historical data submitted by the provider. Supporting PDF documents can be uploaded via the portal which will eliminate problems typically associated with faxes, although faxes will continue to be accepted as needed. Providers will be able to print Level II determinations for resident files at their convenience, again eliminating any lost or discarded faxes.
